Welcome to my crazy life.

So I am finally doing it. I have been thinking about writing this blog for over a year now and every time I would just think about it, I would cringe. I would think what does my writing have to offer that anyone would be interested in. It might be interesting, it might be funny and it might just be plan boring, but that's OK because  I won over the fear this time and am writing to my hearts content.

  So a little bit about me, I have been married to my husband for almost 14 years now, and we have created our home in Crescent City, California.

  We have two boys Jacob (12 almost 13) and Parker (8), and boy oh boy are they a hoot. If you want to really see something funny join us for dinner one night and your life will never be the same again ( OK, I am exaggerating just a little bit, but they are definitely two of the funniest boys you will ever meet).

  My husband Matthew and I met in 1992 on a school bus ride from Klamath, CA to Crescent City, CA( he said it was love at first sight and he knew I was going to be his wife someday), had anyone told me that the first day we met I would have just laughed in their face. You see my husband and I are two of the most opposite people you will ever meet in this lifetime ( I am sure God had a great time matching us up). We are so opposite that it reminds of that song written by George and Ira Gershwin in 1937 called "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off" ( here is the chorus from that song):

You say eether and I say eyether,
You say neether and I say nyther;
Eether, eyether, neether, nyther,
Let's call the whole thing off!
You like potato and I like potahto,
You like tomato and I like tomahto;
Potato, potahto, tomato, tomahto!
Let's call the whole thing off!
But oh! If we call the whole thing off!

I am sure that got a little laugh out of you but I am really not kidding. We often laugh about our differences ( Matthew even wrote a song about them, using the tune of "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off")and wonder what God was thinking when he put us together. He must have been doing something right because despite how different we are, it just works ( I can't explain how but it just does). Despite how different we are, we have lots in common like; our total and complete obsession with anything and everything Disney (especially Disneyland)

 our love of recreational shooting ( this story will be an entire blog post of its own, someday in the near future)

and our commitment to raising our boys in a Christian home and instilling those values in them, in hopes that they will instill the same values in their family one day. I know it doesn't sound like much but this is my crazy life......so enjoy the ride.
